How much does it cost for a uniform and weapon? For The 709th uniform & gear requirements bought from vendors, it cost’s about $1100.00, not including a rifle. See the REQUIREMENTS section for more details.
Do I have to have a complete uniform and rifle to start out with? No, we "may" be able to loan you some items for your first few events. You have 2 years to complete your impression. See the REQUIREMENTS section for more details.
How often, and where are there reenactments? There are reenactments year round, but there are some slower times in the summer and winter months. Reenactments we attend, take place in the North Central region of the US, which includes IL., MI., IN., and WI.
Are there membership dues? Yes, the dues are $35.00 per year, prorated at a recruits first event. These dues help pay for the unit website, some food, black powder, and other miscellaneous unit expenses.
What makes you different from other Heer units?
1. We are not an "elite" unit with cuff titles and lots of shiny awards etc...
2. We are not a 2-3 event per year unit.
3. Members wear items such as e-tools, zelts, and gas mask canisters, just like real soldaten would.
4. We are constantly improving our impression, there is no "good enough" mentality here.
5. We have lots of authentic heavy weapons and equipment.
6. We refuse to be rank heavy.
